The history of Kiltale Hurling club dates back to the 1920s. Many fine hurlers have represented the club
since those days, players including Tom and Pat Madden, Joe and Pat Mulligan and Patsy Geraghty. The
club was disbanded in 1934 and reformed in 1946 with players like Paddy and Billy Kelly, Micky Regan,
Billy Delaney and Patsy Geraghty to name but a few. Kiltale won their first Junior title in 1954. The club
reached the SHC Final twice in the 50s without success. There was no club in the 60s but in 1970 the club
was reformed by the late Tommy Kane. They won the JHC in 1971, IHC in 1972 and 1977 and an U14
championship in 1975. In the 80”s the club won the SHC in 1982 and 1983 and the Feis Cup in 1985 and
1987. Now, in the 2000’s the club has achieved SHC wins in 2007, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018

Many past and present players/members have represented the club at County level and have achieved
All-Ireland winning success. This we acknowledge.

The club’s youth structure is strong and thanks must go to the hard work of all those underage mentors
and parents who travel endlessly with the kids without complaint.

Our Clubhouse is the central ‘HUB’ for the gathering of young and old in the parish. It takes huge
voluntary effort to keep it functioning and the continuing support of all is what is keeping it open. We
thank you for supporting it.
